Race for Life

It's finally arrived ... the last week of training and top tips for the event itself.  We are also putting on a supporting event providing free massage to every lady who brings along their number from the race for life plus a whole host of music, dance and family fun throughout the two days.

Join us on the Theatre District from 2.30pm on Saturday 31st May and from 11.30am on Sunday 1st June to celebrate your success, to enjoy some local music & dance talent, have some fun at our tombola and kids stalls and help raise additional funds for Cancer Research.  Also if you did participate in the Race for Life bring your number and enjoy a 10 minute sports / leg massage (including reflexology on Sunday) on us!

Top Tips for the Race for Life event :

  • Don’t drink or eat immediately before running (about an hour before for eating) take water with you and sip it as you go round.
  • Don’t forget to get your breathing sorted before you set off – in your nose and out your mouth and fill your lungs each breath .. don’t panic and start panting.
  • Make sure you wear lots of thin layers this way you can remove them if you get warm.
  • If it is sunny don’t forget your sun cream, a hat and sunglasses and pour water over your head if you need to cool down.
  • Don’t buy new footwear for the event … wear something comfortable otherwise you will suffer with blisters.
  • Prior to the race warm up and make sure you stretch at the end to avoid injury.
  • Enjoy the day – it is meant to be fun!
  • Join us at the Theatre District for post event  massages and family fun !
